Inline measuring and inspection system | 100% inspection of linear parts

The iQ-extrusion measuring machine can inspect 100% of your products inline during the production cycle and detect process deviations in real time. The iQ-extrusion measuring machine is exclusively designed for automated 100% inline measurement and quality control of linear parts, such as extrusion profiles for battery housings and vehicle bodies.

iQ-extrusion combines tolerance measurements according to EN 755-9 and EN 12020-2 from the world of extrusion with processing-specific tolerance specifications according to the reference point system (RPS).

Profiles to be inspected are placed in the product mount by means of an industrial robot or gantry loader. The scanner moves linearly along the stationary profile. Up to seven 3D scanners create a digital 3D image of the surfaces and shapes to be inspected.  Starting from the generated 3D image of the profile, the integrated iQ-vision inspection software automatically performs all configured measuring tasks on each product. Results are logged and passed on to the subsequent automation. If all measurement results are within the tolerance range, the profile is released for further processing. Deviating profiles are processed by the automation for straightening or recycling.
