  • Full-surface recording of the design side and the rim bed: The full-surface three-dimensional recording of the design side and the rim bed enables the performance of extensive measurements and inspections on raw cast wheels. 
  • High performance density in the smallest space: In just a single, 360° rotation of the wheel, two 3D scanners create a high-resolution image of the design side and the rim bed. There is no need to search for the barcode on the wheel, the wheel position, the wheel size and the wheel type beforehand. Type differentiation and measurements are automated on the digitised 3D image of the wheel. 
  • High energy efficiency: Measuring is accomplished by simple, continuous 360° rotation of the wheel. 3D scanners are fixed and no additional, dynamically moving servo axes are required for manipulating measurement sensors. 
  • Optimised initial clamping: The optimum rotational position for the initial clamping is determined on the digital image and the raw cast wheel is transferred to the loading robot in the optimised angular position. 
  • Easy and quick integration of existing and new wheel types: Thanks to the large fields of view of the 3D scanners, wheel sizes ranging from ø14" / H8" to ø24" / H16" can be digitised regardless of type. The integrated iQ-vision measuring software can be used to configure and save type-specific inspection and measuring tasks on the basis of the generated 3D image. This can also be done offline in parallel with production using stored 3D scans.
  • Highest integration flexibility: The side panels of the measuring machine can be individually removed. Therefore, the wheel can be pulled out from three sides, depending on the cell structure. By removing the end stop, the measuring machine can also be operated in through-feed mode. Thanks to signal exchange via PROFINET, OPC UA and safety connection via PROFISAFE, the measuring machine is networked with the existing line with only one network cable, without electrical adaptations. 
  • Archiving of digital 3D images: Digital 3D images of raw cast wheels can be automatically stored and evaluated in ring memory for analysis and optimisation purposes. 
  • Statistical data for process monitoring and trend analysis: All measured wheel data are stored in a database for trend analysis and process monitoring.
